Enter! Youth Meeting 2015
European Youth Centre, Strasbourg - 5-9 July 2015
From 6 to 9 July 2015 the European Youth Centre of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg will offer young people, especially those experiencing discrimination, exclusion and violence in their communities, the opportunity to have their voices heard on solutions for improving their access to social rights.
200 young people, youth workers and local and regional authorities’ representatives from all over Europe will join the Enter! Youth Meeting, in order to learn and share experiences about social rights, situations and responses in other countries, as well as about the work of the Council of Europe in this field. This youth meeting is part of the Council of Europe’s Enter! project on the access of young people to social rights, which aims to support youth work and youth policy responses to situations of exclusion, discrimination and violence affecting young people.
The strategic role of this youth meeting is to discuss the Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to the Member States on the access of young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods to social rights, which has been adopted in January 2015 and to support its promotion and implementation at all levels.
The call for participants is open for group applications, including up to 3 young people (2 plus 1 on the reserve list), one member of local and regional authorities and one youth worker to participate in the event. Details about the candidates, their motivation and potential for follow-up will need to be included in the application form,
Most of the young participants should have the following profile:
- be preferably aged 13 to 30 (due to the nature of this event priority would be given to people age 16-20)
- have been a participant, volunteer or peer educator/leader in a youth project addressing the issues of access to social rights
- are directly concerned by the issues of violence, exclusion or discrimination in their neighbourhood
- preferably speak English or French at a basic level.
For any questions regarding the applications or problems in accessing the platform, please contact Jackie Lubelli at jackie.lubelli@coe.int
